Events Manager
Bill Kuhlman is Events Manager (Emeritus) in the Office of Ceremonies and Special Events (C&SE). Bill began his UC Davis career with the Institute of Transportation Studies (Energy Institute / ITS-Davis) in 2009 and moved to C&SE in 2015, retiring in July 2023. He was recalled in October 2023, worked part-time through Spring 2024 Commencement, and is now enjoying retirement full-time. His portfolio included annual and continuing events such as Staff Assembly Awards, Campus Community Book Project (CCBP) Dinner, UC Davis Prize Gala, UC Davis Medal Gala, Quarter Century Club (QCC) Dinner, Endowed Chairs and Professors (ECP) Dinner, Faculty of Distinction (FOD) Reception, Picnic Day Ice Cream with the Chancellor, and the Chancellor Colloquium Distinguished Speaker series. Bill loves welcoming event attendees to UC Davis and would not have been successful without his amazing Director and colleagues. Bill has a BA in Political Science from San Diego State University and an MBA from San Francisco State University. His grown daughter, son-in-law, and granddog live in LA. Bill lives in Davis with his wife Roberta, who is also retired. In his spare time, Bill enjoys working out at the ARC, running, bike riding, and reading.
