WHAT I DO

As a Student Assistant for the Office of Ceremonies and Special Events, Amelia assists with various tasks including creating event materials, assisting the Events Managers in day-to-day event planning and logistics, and working on-site at events. For Commencements, she handles regalia prep and organization for the stage party and faculty, ensuring everyone looks their best.

Amelia is a third-year Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning Student from Pleasanton, California. She is a graduate of Amador Valley High School where she planned many student-centered events, sparking her passion for event planning. Most notably, she served as the director of the student-run Mr. Amador pageant, raising over $50,000 for the George Mark Children’s House in San Leandro. Amelia is passionate about community outreach, environmental policy, and her cats. She joined Ceremonies and Special Events in October of 2022.

When she’s not in the office sorting linen samples or studying for her next midterm, Amelia enjoys reading, crocheting, and listening to music. If you see her at an event, she will gladly show you photos of her cats or talk to you about Taylor Swift.
